How We Can Help

A broad range of loss-management strategies and supports can help sustain your teams when losses associated with both death and non-death-related events show up at work.

  • Supporting Grieving Workers

Moving through loss is complicated whether it is a personal event or a loss at work such as the death of a client. Managers can better support workers if they have a framework that encompasses the diversity of how we uniquely process loss.

  • Supporting Teams Facing Loss

There is value in promoting individual and collective care in a team through in-services on complex grief and traumatic loss. A structure for effective debriefing practices provides workers with opportunities to intentionally process the stressors of their work.

  • Supporting An Organization Facing Loss

With organizational change comes the experience of loss. Workers are required to make a psychological transition as they move from what was to what will be. Supporting managers to support workers through this process of adapting to change is part of what we do.

 Land Appreciation

All members of the Good Grief Care team currently reside in what is now known as Southern Ontario, which is the Treaty Lands and Traditional of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. The territory is within the lands protected by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes and directly adjacent to the Kanien’keha:ka (Mohawk) community of Tyendinaga, covered most recently by the Williams Treaty 1923. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic and present-day connection to this place.
